Yesterday was a wonderful day !!!
Sunny and warm and everything, it was perfect !!
But my boyfriend and I didn't know what to do. We wanted to do something, but what ????

So we decided to go to the War Cemetery.

A War Cemetery ?
I know what you think : there are thing much more fun to do than that !
And you are right ! But the thing is that the cemetery is just a few minutes away from my boyfriend's house and we had never been there !

So we decided to go.

It is actually a Cemetery for the British soldiers who died trying to free that zone back in 1945.
I didn't think I would be, but it moved me a lot ! I almost cried. Actually I think I did shed a tear or two.
I think that what is worse, is when you read the inscription on the stones...with the ages : 18, 21, 24, 19...
So much people, so young, such a waste.
We just stood there watching the hundreds of white stones shining under the sun.

A cemetery seems to be such a quiet place when you think of the terrible things these men, boys !, have been through !
In fact, in a moment like that you are just...thankful.

Le soleil, la chaleur et tout, c'était vraiment parfait !
Mais mon chéri et moi on n'arrivait pas à se décider sur ce qu'on allait faire. On voulait faire quelque chose, mais quoi ?!

Nous avons donc décidé d'aller au cimetière militaire.

Un cimetière militaire ?! me direz-vous...
Je sais qu'il y a des choses bien plus amusantes à faire que ça mais en fait ce qu'il y a c'est que le cimetière est juste à quelques minutes de chez mon chéri et on n'y était jamais allés.

Nous avons donc décidé d'y aller.

En fait c'est un cimetière de soldats britanniques qui ont libéré la zone en 1945.
Je n'imaginais que ça me toucherait comme ça mais alors c'était vraiment très émouvant ! J'en ai presque pleuré ! En fait je crois que j'ai bien versé une ou deux larmes...
Je pense que le pire c'est de lire les inscriptions sur les pierres tombales...avec les âges indiqués : 18, 21, 24, 19...
Tellement de gens, tellement jeunes, un tel gâchis !
On étaient là à regarder les centaines de pierres blanches brillant sous le soleil.

Un cimetière semble être un endroit si calme quand on pense aux horreurs que ces hommes, ces gamins ! ont traversées !
En fait dans un moment comme celui-là on se sent juste...reconnaissant.

À présent je vais vous laisser jeter un oeil aux quelques images que j'ai prises...
